Eklingji is a form of Lord Shiva. This pious site carries a lot of history. The actual place of worship was constructed by the 8th century King Bappa Rawal which was invaded by sultanate rulers. Subsequently, Rana Kumbha(15th century) and his son Rana Raimal ( late 15th century) rebuilt this temple. This temple consists of 108 shrines made up of red stones and marbles. Other than Shiva, these are devoted to other Hindu gods and goddesses such as the wife of Shiva (Parvati), the sons of Shiva (Ganesha and Kartika), river Yamuna and Ganga etc. the main shrine is Chaumukhi which means the one with four faces, these four faces are Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, Surya.
Opening and Closing Timings:In the morning, it is opened from 4:30 A.M. – 7:00 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. In the evening, it is opened 5:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
