Morning Arrival at Ahmedabad Airport / Railway Station, Transfer to Meet, Greet and Hotel, Later visit Gandhi Ashram, Hate Singh Jain Temple, Adalaj Step Well, Akshardham Temple.
It is on the western bank of the Sabarmati River. I corrected the museum building (designed by designer Charles Correa), and Memorial Activities began then. An important activity is the establishment of the Gandhi Memorial Organization. Exhibitions at the museum include Gandhi quotes, letters, and a life-size oil painting gallery.
It was a wealthy merchant from Ahmedabad, named Shet Hathsingh Kesar Singh, It was built in 1850 by Seth Hathi Singh. It is easily distinguished by its highly carved pillar visible from the street. Built-in white marble with smooth carvings of dancers, musicians, animals, and flowers, this serene temple is dedicated to Dharmanath, whose idol stands in the main temple.
It consists of 52 tirthas, an image of a Tirthankara, each decorated with rich carvings, with a marble image of a 15th Tirthankara. The temple is a two-story structure with elaborate porches on three sides and a large dome with a front porch.
The Step Well was built in 1499. V. Rani Rudabai wife of Singh, Vaghela family. Its dividers and columns incorporate leaves, blossoms, fowls, fish, and other stunning decorative plans. In the past, these steps were frequent as stopovers along trade routes with Wales tourists and caravans. The five-storied, stepwell in the sleeping village of adulthood, is a marvel of architecture. The deeply carved monument carried religious and practical purposes to the people, though the tragedy inspires its origins.
The Indo-Islamic technique developed in India in the early centuries of the medieval period, which is neither a local adaptation of Islamic art, nor a modification of Hindu art, but is a combination of both styles, although not always to an equal degree. The architecture of this well also reflects the influence of the earlier Solanki rulers of Gujarat. Built entirely in sandstone, one can enter this stepwell from the three sides, huge carved and deeply carved niches with a heavily carved colonial landing. Kadam-Khair served both rituals, along with practical needs.
Akshardham speaks the language of architectural grandeur with no uncertainty. Just 40 minutes drive from the city center, you will find this intricately carved pink sandstone structure, which is 108 feet in height, 131 feet in width, and 240 feet. I dedicate the temple to Lord Swaminarayan and his philosophy about life.
It is on a 23-acre campus and has an enticing mix of domes, balconies, carved columns, and sculptures. One of the temple's major attractions is the seven feet high gold-plated statue of Lord Swaminarayan, which is kept in the central chamber. The Light and Water Show named Sat-Chit-Anand is another crowded bridge that attracts devotees and tourists alike. Over two lakh people visit this grand temple every year; I count it among the most popular tourist destinations in Ahmedabad.
