    Ajmer India Travel

    Ajmer is situated in central Rajasthan and south of Jaipur in India. Founded by Rajah Ajai Pal Chauhan in the 7th century, Ajmer in Rajasthan India is a Muslim pilgrimage center on the shore of Ana Sagar. Ajmer is an important travel destination of India. Till 1193 A.D., Ajmer used to be a major center of the Chauhan power when the rajput Ruler Prithviraj Chauhan lost it to Mohammed Ghauri. Interesting history of Ajmer makes it one of the must visit places in India.
    Ajmer is also famous for the tomb of Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chisti, a medieval Sufi-Saint. The tomb is one of the most important travel attractions of Ajmer India and people of all the religions and beliefs travel to Ajmer to worship at the Dargah. Other monuments which stand as reminders of Ajmer's colonial past are the Edward Memorial hall, Ajmer club and Jubilee clock tower. Ajmer is a place where people of all the religions and beliefs live in peace and harmony.
    Ajmer is also famous for its Pushkar festival held in October/ November and is dedicated to Lord Brahma. Travel to Ajmer India to explore the cultural and religious heritages of the city.

    Ajmer Travel Attractions
    Dargah of Khawaja Moin-Ud-Din- Chisti
    This is the shrine of Khawaja Moin-ud-din-Chisti, a medieval sufi saint who came to India from Persia in 1192. Humayun completed the construction of the shrine and the gate was added by the Nizam of Hyderabad. The saint's tomb is in the center of the second court. The actual tomb is concealed in raised marble dome by a silver platform

    Adhai Din Ka Jhopda
    Initially it was a Sanskrit college that was destroyed by the Mohammad Ghauri and was converted into mosque in just 2 and half days and hence it was named after the situation. This is one of the very old mosque in India built in 1193 AD and is a great example of Indo- Muslim architecture

    Once the royal residence of Emperor Akbar ,the museum houses a rich repository of the Mughal and Rajput Armour and exquisite sculptures
